Conferences

During the project, the research team will present their findings at various national and international academic conferences relevant to the subject of the study. This will allow them to share their discoveries with the academic community and gain feedback that may prove valuable for further research development. These presentations will also provide an opportunity to deepen scholarly debate and enrich the scientific discourse.

 

1. The IACL Roundtable „Current Challenges to Constitutional Democracy” (3-4 October 2024) – Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy.

  • Dr Robert Rybski presented a paper: „Central Bank Digital Currencies & Artificial Intelligence: What are the boundaries of digitalizing money in liberal democracies?” in the panel „Democracy in the age of AI”.

 

2. Digital justice seminar series „Legal dimension of Central Bank Digital Currencies” (15 November 2024) – University of Wrocław, Wroclaw, Poland.

3. The Global Summit on Constitutionalism (20-22 March 2025) – The University of Texas in Austin, Austin, United States of America.

  • Dr Robert Rybski presented a paper entitled “AI Applications in CBDC: Setting Boundaries for Unchecked Governmental Powers” in the panel “Constitutional Challenges of Generative AI”.

  • Dr Konrad Rydel presented a paper entitled “Big Brother in Your Wallet? The Privacy Risks of Central Bank Digital Currency” in the panel “Constitutionalism in the Digital Age”.

 

4. 13th Edition of The International Conference on Law, European Studies, and International Relations: „Mapping the Law Between Legislative Gaps, Normative Excess and New Legal Frontiers in the Digital Age” (13-14 May 2025) – Bucharest, Romania. 

  • Dr Konrad Rydel presented a paper entitled “Financial Inclusion through CBDC – Right to Economic Participation”remotely.

 

5. Konferencja Naukowa „Podział władzy – między teorią a praktyką” (Separation of Powers – Between Theory and Practice) (28 April 2025) – Jagiellonian University, Cracow, Poland. 

  • Dr Konrad Rydel presented a paper entitled: „Zagrożenia dla niezależności banków centralnych w XXI wieku” (Threats to Central Bank Independence in the 21st Century).

 

6. 1st International On-chain Economy Conference (23-25 May 2025) – SGH University, Warsaw, Poland. 

  • Dr Robert Rybski presented a paper entitled “CBDC. Policy Implications”, while Dr Konrad Rydel delivered a paper entitled “Ownership of Money in the Era of CBDC”. Both participated in the panel “Monetary Policy & CBDC”.

 

7. ICON’S Annual Conference: At the Crossroads of Public Law: Equality, Climate Emergency, and Democracy in the Digital Era (23-25 July 2025) – University of Brasilia, Brasilia, Brazil.

  • Dr Robert Rybski presented a paper: „The controlling of political parties 'finances and central banks’ digital currencies” in the panel „Regulating Political Parties„.
